Latest on ACP from the CHQ

Orders granting 3 ACPs under the newly introduced Modified ACP (MACP) Scheme is under drafting at the Postal Directorate & it is told that the orders are containing various illustrations & models with more clarity for its implementation. The orders will be released after the formal approval of JS & FA of the Postal Department. Orders are expected in next week positively.

Voluntary Blood Donation Camp at Kolkata GPO

A voluntary blood donation camp was organised at KOLKATA GPO on 8th day of July 2009 under the banner of NFPE group of Unions of Kolkata GPO. The blood donation camp was formally innaugurated by Smt. Sheuli Burman(IPS), Director, Kolkata GPO. Com. Soumen Bandopadhyay & Com. Pradyut Chakraborty, President, AIPEU Gr-C & AIPEU Postmen & Gr-D respectively presided the gallant Meeting. Com. Janardan Majumder, Circle Secretary, AIPEU Gr-C, W.B. Circle & Com. Nirmal Ch. Dey, Circle Secretary, AIPEU Postmen & Gr-D, W.B.Circle also graced the ocassion. Blood donars also got moral boost up from Sri. D. Ashish, one of the pioneers of Volunatry Blood Donation Movement in West Bengal.

A total of 60 (Sixty) officials of Kolkata GPO (including daily rated casual laborers) volunatrily donated their blood in the said Camp. The said Camp was made a grand success under the leadership of Com. Sachidananda Biswas, Secretary, AIPEU Gr-C, Kolkata GPO & Com. S.Ghosh, Secretary, AIPEU Postmen & Gr-D, Kolkata GPO.

Dear Comrades,
This is with reference to our note dated 23rd May 2009 in this Blog. Director, Kolkata GPO, has today (i.e., on 28.05.2009) issued a detailed order in connection with non-endorsement of files pertaining to personal claims preferred by the officials of Kolkata GPO, say for example, TA, LTC, Medical Reimbursement Claims, Children Education Allowance (CEA), etc., to the AAO, Kolkata GPO. These claims, as per the order of the Director, are now to be settled as per the financial competence of the Dy. Director(s), Kolkata GPO, as was done in past.
It is our considered opinion that this will in turn reduce the unjust delay in settlement of all such personal claims. This Service Union also likes to appreciate the stand taken by the Director, Kolkata GPO, particularly in this issue.

Dear Comrades,
This Service Union took a serious note of the undue & unjust delay in settlement of personal claims of our comrades, especially during the last 2 to 3 months. The matter was strongly protested by us, both in writing & at the time of oral informal discussion with the Director, Kolkata GPO & DDPO-I (Admin), Kolkata GPO. Particular reference w.r.t. unjust delay & illogical cuttings of CEA bills by the AAO, Kolkata GPO, was also protested against.
After round of discussions, Director, Kolkata GPO, ensured us on 22.05.2009 (afternoon) that all files related to personal claims of the staff members will not be routed through the AAO. Director has also assured us that a written order to this effect will be issued shortly.
Let us hope that the Director will keep her words failing which further Trade Union action will be initiated from our end.

Comrades long awaited ACP order has been released by the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India, on 19.05.2009.For full text of the order, it is requested to please visit the DoPT website, http://www.persmin.nic.in/. AIPEU Group-C, Kolkata GPO has already undertaken an indepth study of the said ACP order under reference. Our analysis will be posted in the blog very soon.

Comrades, we have done it once again.
At the end of re-verification of union membership, a total of 519 (Five Hundred Nineteen) employees of Group-C cadre of Kolkata GPO had filed authorisation in favor of AIPEU Group-C, Kolkata GPO, against only 87 (Eighty Seven) employees who submitted authorisation in favor of FNPO (Group-C), Kolkata GPO.
We would like to extent RED SALUTE to all those Comrades who kept faith on AIPEU Group-C, Kolkata GPO.
We strongly believe that ---" together we can & together we will make the difference".
